Welcome to the new WordPress all, readers and authors alike! We have now made a complete upgrade of the platform and the database to offer more stability and more flexibility as well as better support for plugins, media, XHTML, browsers and other stuff that we had problems with in the previous version.

For the readers, not much should have changed, as we have kept the old appearance and only minor aestethical adjustments have been made.

For the writers, it’s a whole new game. You will find the dashboard completely reworked, and that things have been moved around a bit, but hopefully you will be able to familiarise yourself with it quickly! If not, drop me a note and I’ll throw in a crash course in WP2.0+ while we’re at it!

  1. It seems the upgrade may cause som character encoding problems in OLDER posts. This has to do with the added support for different character sets we have installed. This is beeing looked into but at the moment I think we can live with it. It does not look like it will affect any new posts written.

  2. may I just say that your final note on that post was The Perfect… when in fact you have admitted yourself in your own comment that this new wordpress is far from perfect… also… does this mean I can now copy and paste straight from the net without going through notepad yet??? or is that still a no no?

  3. Georg is right, it did say prefect. Which is something else entirely. And copying from anything but notepad is stil a no-no, unless you know xhtml and are prepeared to spend time fixing it before you publish.
